On June 9, 2015, 4ward Planning’s Todd J. Poole presented current and projected demographic and real estate market trends within the Tri-County Region (Cumberland, Perry, and Dauphin Counties, PA) for the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission. Adapted from this presentation, this webinar presents demographic and real estate market trends within the Tri-County region and elaborates upon what implications these trends will have on local land-use policies.
Macro-level business trends and continuing demographic shifts are not only altering the way land is developed and utilized, but where it’s developed and utilized. The objective of this webinar is to generate fresh perspectives on some age-old land-use issues:
- What are the implications for our local businesses when our policies make it difficult to develop multi-family housing?
- If we cooperated to help a neighboring county obtain a new automotive plant, would our residents still find opportunity in the jobs created?
- What else can we do to revitalize that dying shopping center, given that we have too much retail in our county, already?
This webinar is ideal for planners, real estate and economic development professionals and local leaders working within the Tri-County region.
